My Menopause Weight Journey (And How I Broke Free!)
Like so many of you, as I entered menopause, my body started changing in ways I didn’t expect—or love! Between 40 and 55, I packed on an extra 15 pounds. Suddenly, my knees were screaming, my hips ached, and even walking became a chore.
That’s when I knew I had to make a change. I dove deep into mindset work, and with the help of coaching, I not only lost the menopausal weight but also shed the extra weight from having kids! I’m back to my pre-baby weight of 120 pounds, and let me tell you, it feels amazing!
Now, I’m on a mission to help you experience that same freedom and confidence.

- Your Mindset is Everything: For years, I carried this belief: “I’m never going to lose this weight after having kids.” And guess what? I didn’t. It wasn’t until I challenged that thought, replaced it with self-compassion, and truly believed I could make a change that things started to shift.
- The “I Can’t” Diet (And Why It’s a Game-Changer): I challenge you to do this one thing: For just one week, eliminate the phrase “I can’t” from your vocabulary. Pay attention to how often it pops up. It’s shocking! Awareness is the first step to breaking free from those limitations.
- Self-Awareness: Your Inner BFF: We all have that inner critic, that voice that judges us harshly. Start treating yourself like your own best friend. What would you say to your best friend in the same situation? Offer yourself that same kindness and understanding.
- Question Your Thoughts (Seriously!): We tend to accept our thoughts as gospel, but what if they’re not true? What if you could choose to believe something more empowering? Ask yourself: “Is this thought really serving me?”
- Mood & Food: The Connection is Real: Hands up if you’ve ever reached for a tub of ice cream after a bad day? (Guilty!). We need to become aware of those emotional eating patterns. Are you truly hungry, or are you using food to cope with stress, boredom, or sadness?
- It’s Your Choice, Ladies! This is the bottom line. You are not a victim of your circumstances or your limiting beliefs. You have the power to choose your health and well-being.
Stop the Hamster Wheel! Practical Steps You Can Take Today
- Tune into Your Hunger: Before you eat, ask yourself: “Am I really hungry, or am I eating for another reason?”
- Move Your Body, Joyfully: Forget grueling workouts you hate! Find activities that make you feel good, whether it’s dancing, hiking, or just puttering around in the garden.
- Prioritize Sleep (It’s Non-Negotiable!): Sleep is crucial for hormonal balance and weight management. Create a calming bedtime routine.
- Manage Stress Like a Boss: High stress levels can wreak havoc on your body and your weight. Incorporate stress-reducing activities like meditation, yoga, or spending time in nature.
Picture Your Radiant Future Self!
Think about the woman you want to be in 5, 10, or 20 years. What’s her life like? How does she feel? By making small, intentional changes today, you’re investing in that vibrant future self.
